NP Gambia Strengthens First Aid Skills Among Pump Attendants

The training focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge to respond to medical emergencies while awaiting professional assistance. As frontline employees at NP Gambia’s retail stations, Pump Attendants may be among the first people on the scene when a customer, colleague, or other individual at the station requires immediate help. Understanding how to respond appropriately can therefore make an important difference in an emergency.

Participants were introduced to fundamental first aid principles, including how to assess an emergency, respond to common injuries and provide appropriate initial care. Through practical demonstrations and guided exercises, participants strengthened their first aid skills and confidence in responding to emergencies.

The sessions simply encouraged the pump attendants to view first aid not only as a workplace requirement, but as a practical life skill that can be valuable both on and off the job. For NP Gambia, the training adds another layer to its approach to employee development.
